The reason I joined the Postal Service- The thing is, they were the ones who gave me the chance to do my craft because I was laid off for about a year and a half. I was a contractor and my job laid me off for a year and a half and I came to them and they said,’ well, can you start up right away and can you do everything,’ and I said yes and they started me up and in the past I was never in a union, or in anything I did I was never in a union, but my brother would always tell me about the union because he had been a union member for years and I always felt I needed someone to help me so I would always try to do everything myself, but I’m just glad I have a union because they always have my back.
